Each A-rated bulb saves you just over 9 Euros per year
Each ordinary bulb that you replace with an A-rated equivalent reduces your electricity bill by just over 9 Euros per year if you have it switched on for 3 hours per day on average. A-rated bulbs use only a 1/4 as much power as ordinary tungsten filament bulbs, so the extra cost of an energy saving bulb is quickly recouped. When you save on your electricity bill you are also reducing your carbon footprint.
The environment benefits to the tune of 250,000 tons less CO2
If every Danish household replaced 7 bulbs in their home with energy efficient A-rated bulbs then Danish families would, collectively, save no less than 134 million Euros per year in reduced electricity consumption. To these savings should be added the fact that A-rated bulb last 6-15 times longer than conventional tungsten filament bulbs.
Apart from the cash savings, there are considerable benefits for the environment because the lower electricity consumption by A-rated bulbs will result in 250,000 tons less CO2 being discharged per year.
